olá/ɔlˈa/
hi, hello
Olá, bom dia!
Hi, good morning!Hello, please, thank you and goodbye.
These are the phrases you will use from your first coffee on: hello, goodbye, please and thank you, each one recorded.
Olá works at any hour. Bom dia is used until midday, boa tarde until about seven, and boa noite after that, for good evening and good night alike.
And obrigado follows the person speaking, not the person thanked: a man says obrigado, a woman obrigada.
Any hour, then morning, afternoon and evening.
