Speeku joins the ElevenLabs Grants Program

We're thrilled to share that Speeku has been selected for the ElevenLabs Startup Grants Program. 🎉

It's a big moment for a small team. Here's why it matters so much to us.

You learn a language with your ears

You can't learn to speak from a page. You need to hear it. Again and again, until it sounds normal.

So every line in a Speeku lesson has a voice. Every word, every sentence, every dialogue. Tens of thousands of lines per course.

And the voice has to be right. A learner copies what they hear. If the voice sounds off, you learn to sound off too.

Offline means recorded

Speeku works offline. Completely. No account, no server, no internet.

That means the app can't make up a voice on the fly. Every line you hear is a recording, made before the app ships and packed inside it.

We make those recordings with ElevenLabs. Then we listen to them, and the ones that sound wrong get recorded again.

Voices for languages nobody voices

Our courses are the ones the big apps skip. That makes finding a voice hard.

European Portuguese has to sound like Lisbon, not São Paulo. Swiss German has no standard spelling at all, and most voices have never heard it.

ElevenLabs is a big part of how we get there. It lets us give each course a cast: different people, different voices, the way a real conversation sounds.

What the grant means

More voices, and better ones. More lines re-recorded until they sound right. And room to bring Speeku to the next languages on our list.

We can't wait to keep building on ElevenLabs.
