please
Só ida, por favor.
One way, please.Um chá, por favor.
A tea, please.A conta, por favor.
The bill, please. What people say, and how it sounds.
Por favor works everywhere. Se faz favor (often shortened to faz favor) is the Portuguese one: you will hear it at every café counter and it is the quickest way to sound as if you learned your Portuguese in Portugal.
Both go at the end of a request: Um café, se faz favor.
The se nearly disappears and the z turns into the Portuguese sh, so the whole thing runs together as s'fash fa-VOR, stress on the last syllable. Por favor is poor fa-VOR, with a tapped r.
Every line is one the course teaches, with its European Portuguese audio.
