Boa noite is both good evening and good night. Portuguese has no separate word: once the light goes it is boa noite, whether you are arriving, leaving or going to bed.
It takes a name after a comma: Boa noite, Rosa!
Boa is two syllables, BO-a. The oi of noite is like the oy in boy, and the final e all but vanishes, so the word ends on the t.
Every line is one the course teaches, with its European Portuguese audio.
