How lessons work

What happens in a lesson, the lesson map, levels and skipping an exercise.

Inside a lesson

Each lesson takes a few minutes and is made of around ten short exercises. New words come four at a time, and each one goes through four steps:

  1. Read it on a card
  2. Hear it in a real voice
  3. Say it out loud
  4. Recall it on your own
Read it: new words on a card

Recall it: pick the right picture

Use it: reply in a scene

The exercises keep changing, so the same word never comes back the same way twice. At the end of a lesson you see how many exercises you got right the first time.

The lesson map

The Lessons tab is your path through the course. Tap the next lesson to start it. Lessons are grouped into units, and each unit flies its name on the map.

If you scroll away, use the button on the map to jump back to your current lesson.

Levels

A course is divided into levels, starting at A1. When you finish every lesson in a level, Speeku celebrates with a summary of what you have learned and takes you on to the next one.

Skipping an exercise

Tap the » button at the top left of the screen to skip the exercise you are on. It is handy when you cannot speak out loud, for example on a quiet train.
