Getting the microphone working

If a speaking exercise doesn't seem to hear you, these steps fix it almost every time.

Allow the microphone

Speeku needs permission to use the microphone. If you said no when it asked, you can turn it on in your phone's settings.

• Android: open Settings, then Apps, then the Speeku app, then Permissions, and allow Microphone. Google explains it step by step in Change app permissions on your Android phone.
• iPhone: open Settings, find the Speeku app and turn on Microphone.

Check the speech pack

Speeku understands you with its speech pack, which downloads once after you install the app. If it hasn't finished, open the app while you are online and let it complete.

Still not hearing you?

Close the app fully and open it again, then try a speaking exercise somewhere quiet. If it still doesn't work, contact support and tell us which phone you use.
